You will be missed. As I watch the HBO tribute to the genius of word...to the hysterical "fairly neato" comedian and one I still to this day find myself thinking of life's little quirky circumstance, I ponder at the everyday little things that make me laugh and were only verbalized, quite poetically, by my hero of comedy......George Carlin.

 

I love you George!

 

I thought this painting only fitting to my and everyone around me that admired George. Heck, I grew up watching him on HBO....yes...folks...I ran up to my best friends house and her mom would let us watch George. Some of the best times!!!!

Dr. Bob Boury from UALR asked me to be a visiting artist for an after school program at the Methodist Church near the University. We ended up decorating eggs and then the kiddos went for an egg hunt afterward. We first dyed the eggs in traditional color and after they dried embellished them with glitter and pigment that i had left over from my days as a makeup artist at MAC. The kids were thrilled as some of them took on a metallic form. very cool!!

Here are some pics of Russ, the Minister at the church as a bunny......they laughed hysterically and he got his workout running around in that suit!

We had some cute, sweet kids and they made my heart melt.....I think they liked me .....!!! yay!

 

 

 

I'm supposed to be going back in a few weeks so I gotta think of a cool art project for them to do. wish me luck!

well i gave my yorkie a much needed bath and just had to take these sweet pics of him. He always shivers until i get the blow dryer out which warms him up.....

 

 

 

Yesterday there was a shooting on the UALR campus and it was a bit scary....although I wasn't there thank goodness. it happened on the street adjacent to the student center. lisa (a girl i work with at the art building) had JUST been talking about weird things happening all over the country.... school shootings, mall shootings, and people just acting weird in general. They figured out who it is and will make an arrest as soon as he's found. its good to know that it wasn't a random deal. just an isolated incident.

I just found out a couple of days ago that Etsy folks will be on Martha tomorrow (friday 28th). I can't wait to see the show!

Right now I'm working on paintings that express my lightheartedness side and my more emotional dark side. This duality in my painting emerges sometimes without me even realizing it and sometimes there is a little of both in the same painting. More of these kinds of paintings are coming soon.

We went to see "Juno" today at the Rave and laughed hysterically at the brilliant writing of this movie. I freakin loved the soundtrack. I got to have it! If you haven't yet seen it....go soon. you won't be disappointed. ate greasy popcorn, coke, then went and had mazzio's pizza. EATIN healthy today!!!not!! oh well....i ran a 15k yesterday with a pretty good time so i wasn't feeling to overly worried. i just tell myself i'm carb-REloading.

Alot happened this weekend. I went to my basketball State championship reunion. we won state back in '91&'92 and only a few of my class actually made it. The reunion was also for the girls that won in 83 and 84 and then 87, 88 so it was a really nice evening of chatting with old friends, coaches, and administration. they loved us basketball girls. what a special night of reminiscing. very cool! only me and another girl DIDN't have kids......     I got home late friday night and had to get at 6:00 which turned into 5:00 due to my overzealousness and anxiety of being late-ness to run in the rain and cold....about 34 degrees. it actually turned out to be one of my favorite races though weirdly enough. i would much rather run 9.3 miles in that than in the blistering heat.

Here are some of the things that I'll be featuring in my shop update tomorrow. I'm too excited. There will be suprises....this is not ALL! I'm pumped about the coaster sets. They turned out even better than I had hoped for.
